This is
a commonly asked question that actually has two parts. The
first part of this question deals with "here". The book
of Genesis, which means beginnings, describes the
origin of the
earth. |
|
|
"In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth." |
|
Genesis
1:1 | |
|
| The account in Genesis goes on to
describe how that God created everything from the sun, moon,
and stars to the smallest living creatures in the first five
days of creation. The second part of our question deals
with "we". Genesis says that on the sixth day of creation,
God created man. |
|
"And God said, Let us make man
in our image, after our likeness: and let them have
dominion over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his
own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female
created he them." |
|
Genesis
1:26,27 | |
|
|
God and man had fellowship with each other. God made
a garden for man and placed him there. Then He gave man the
responsibility to maintain it. |
|
"And the LORD God took the man, and put him into
the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep
it." |
